Treasure Beach, like its name, is a treasure to the community that resides there. The grasslands shimmer in the golden sunrays, while the gently blowing breeze sings in tune with man and nature. Just being there, brings peace and tranquility to one’s soul, allowing you to let go and fall in love, and appreciate the divine beauty of one of Jamaica’s finest locales.

The people are amazingly friendly, and it gives you an insight of what Jamaica was, and should be like, emanating the total picture of community spirit. I had the pleasure of meeting Eggy and “BeBe” who watch over the ecology of their surroundings. At Eggy’s bar, they educate through documentary films, demonstrating what is happening to the environment, and the role we play in preserving it. If there were more people like Eggy and BeBe the world would be a better place.

The beauty that runs deep in its natural curves and undulating landscape teaming with wild life, and pastel blue skies, all lend to captivating sceneries of Black River.Within floating gardens and mangroves, there are shy crocodiles and busy birds, so aware of man’s presence, reminding me of the majestic, yet simple beauty of wildlife.

The mirrored waters seem to touch the sky, reflecting a cohesive framework of clouds. Green banks covered with shrubs, again remind me how perfectly picturesque Black River can be.
